Hope is a Good Thing - The Shawshank Redemption

Passionate For Movies

I am very passionate about movies I like to watch all types of movies language no bar for me. Few years back when I was in college, I got a movie from a friend of mine, which was in his pen-drive and he asked me to delete it so that he can get some romantic Bollywood movies from my collection, and when I asked him which movie is this in your pendrive, he nodded and replied “Aare it’s a very boring movie, slow and has no heroine, :p  it’s all about inmate story and I hate violence”. But I Still copied that movie on my portable drive. This movie named “The Shawshank Redemption

When I first saw the movie I was depressed, why didn’t Andi tried to prove his innocence when he knew he didn’t kill his wife.he had many other chance but he didn't.

what I learned from that movie that when your time is bad life can take everything away from you, your happiness, your Joy, Friends, Family, love, everything you love can be ripped from you, and you will get stuck in prison at times, maybe not a literal prison, but a prison of negativity, bad things happening all the time, and nothing you can do when life is raping you but keep walking and thinking about those sandy beaches and waves and sunshine, and keep working towards your dreams, even if it is one pebble at a time, keep digging even when the tools you have to dig with are deficient, and you have to crawl through a mile of feces, because when you finally achieve success, its like a storm and the rain washing away all the nasty dirty grimness of all the bad times, and you finally feel clean and free. And that moment alone is worth it to keep trying, even if it never happens

And what made this movie great of all times for me?

Brook after getting free from jail

This movie is all about Hope
(Redemption is a theme within hope and the fulfillment of hope)

It is also one of the best moves ever written on the subject of Hope

You find a hope from characters in the hopeless situation

*** Some awesome Quotes from movie ***

“It always comes down to just two choices. Get busy living, or get busy dying.”

“Remember that hope is a good thing, Red, maybe the best of things, and no good thing ever dies.”

“I don't have to listen to rumors about a man when I can judge him for myself.”

“Dirty deeds done dirt cheap.’

“Some birds are not meant to be caged, that's all. Their feathers are too bright, their songs too sweet and wild. So you let them go, or when you open the cage to feed them they somehow fly out past you. And the part of you that knows it was wrong to imprison them in the first place rejoices, but still, the place where you live is that much more drab and empty for their departure.”

Happy Reading :)

Sexism doesn't affect just women.

Gender Equality & Its Irony

Two friends - a #guy and a #girl - were catching up over #coffee, talking about their lives, families and marriage plans. However, the conversation ended abruptly because one of them was being #sexist. Here are excerpts from the conversation:
She : Oh! my parents. They want me to get married.

He : Ya... this happens in India with every girl who turns 25

She : Why girls? You are of my age. Are your parents forcing you for marriage?

He : No. Not yet. I think they will in a couple of years

She: Exactly. I too want to get married after a couple of years. I have some career plans, want to travel like you and do lot of things before I get married.

He : That’s nice. Try convincing your parents once.

She : I can't understand my parents! They are so orthodox. I mean..we all talk about gender equality..and this is how our previous generation thinks! Kuch nahi ho sakta is desh ka (Nothing good can happen in this country). You boys have all the privilege. I hate this system.
He : Hmm... anyway did you like the last guy you met?

She : No.

He : Why?

She : Uske Utna to main kamaati hoon. (I earn almost equal). The guy I will marry should earn more than me and should be more intelligent. In the end, these are basic requirements.

He : Oh... I thought we were talking about equality!
